About the Event
The Alpha Mare course is an Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) program designed to help women to discover their personal power and uncover their inner leader. Through interacting with horses on the ground they will investigate how to set boundaries, make healthy relationships, develop self-worth, build self-esteem and cope with change.
We hear a lot in our society about Alpha males but, in a horse herd, the Alpha mare is the one who heads up the herd while the stallion drives it from the back. The psyches of women and horses are interlinked. Like the lead mare in the horse herd, women can be both nurturing and courageous. They may be leaders and protectors. In some cases, there is a shared understanding of what it is like to be preyed upon or feel vigilant to predators.
The Alpha Mare course uses the horse to empower women enable them to find their inner 'Alpha mare' and overcome obstacles in their own lives.
